This beautiful couple came to us via some mutual friends - Sparrow managed Nicole + James’ wedding day in 2019 and they were wonderful enough to refer Kira + James on to us for their big day. We very much appreciate these referrals, and loved having the opportunity to catch up with Nicole + James again at the wedding.
On to Kira + James’ Story…
James and Kira met in Whyalla in 2015 when James was invited to fill in for Kira’s mixed netball team by a mutual friend.
From that week onward, James was a regular member of the team and the spark between the pair was lit. Kira, attracted to James’ gazelle-like netball prowess, made the first move by failing to look James directly in the eye. James was quite rightly confuzzled by this move, and went on thinking Kira was just a really nice person and had no idea she actually liked him.
Fast forward a few months, Kira was dog-sitting for a friend who lived next door to James when she (with the encouraging push of a friend) decided to ask James to keep her company for a few hours. Smooth as James was (is), it took him an hour or two or sitting on the couch commenting on the antics of the dog to work up the courage to ask Kira to dinner. Luckily she said yes (whewww), otherwise we wouldn’t be here today. Two days later they went on their first date, and have been inseparable ever since.

What was your favourite part of the Sparrow’s Management service?
The communication and reassurance throughout the process was outstanding. Emma understood we were new to planning a wedding and guided us with gentle encouragement (and a firm nudge when needed)
What are your fondest memories of the wedding day?
Enjoying the day without having to stress about anything!
What was the best decision you made when planning the wedding? Any advice for future couples?
Don’t get caught up in all the ‘instagram’ wedding. You’ll have the best day when it’s your day, not a photoshoot – you’ll stop worrying about what others think of your day and enjoy yours.
How would you describe what it was like to work with Sparrow to an engaged friend?
Emma is worth her weight in gold! So easy to work with, great communication.
